That was three years ago… Their smile never faltered and nor did their compassion. I gave them three months thinking they’d drop it and push me away. Then they came, a new Attendant who seemed to genuinely care… At first, I thought it was an act, no human has ever been so kind to someone like me. Now I am nothing more than a stem, waiting for the tree to fall and for the cycle to end. A pity really, my petals fell after my first spring. I suppose us souls are like spring blooms, we’re considered beautiful and fragrant at first, but as the seasons change we lose our colour and have to wait until the next spring. As we are unable to die, many of us sit around and do nothing, or are left to do the dirty work for the Attendants to lazy to do it themselves. If we break, we’re replaceable and chucked to the side for someone better. To them, we are weapons and tools, nothing more and nothing less. Very few souls are cared for like they are human, that’s why so many of us despise their kind. The chances of a truly kind Attendant are slim, for the first while they’ll seem nice but after a while their true colours always show. Most Attendants are self-centred and uncaring. Or do we wait in the void until a worthy soul shakes our hand? Even I, a weak and sickly soul know which fate to pick. Do we accept the chance to see colour in exchange to being bound to a human? Where many are forced to fight and work for the sake of another. Like humans in Tierra, the Void can show the best and worst of us souls. On the rare occasion two souls find one another, it’s nearly certain they’ll be parted by a summoning. Even those that are known to be calm and patient have had moments where it’s been too much. Whilst the thought seems peaceful, almost like a dream, the silence, the wait… It’s maddening. That, or wait for the light to come to you. Where all you’re able to do is wonder, never finding an end or light. An eternal void with no doors, windows or colour. From what the others have said, It seems that the void would be a far better option. The rest… well, if they can hide, they can. Those that escape head north, the cold tends to keep the hunters and ambitious away. Yet a weak soul such as I am left to suffer alongside the stronger ones. When a Master Attendant dies, the weaker of us go too. Song: (Once upon a dream - Cover by Ashe) ((A/n: If I had to pick a singing voice for raindrop cake, this would be it!))
